About the artist
Gregory Pyra, an international jewelry artist, has his work shown currently in museums such as the Malbork Castle Museum, in Malbork, and the Amber Museum in Gdansk in Poland. Pforzheim Jewellery Museum also had his jewelry artworks. In the past he has made pieces for the Royal family in Sweden, for King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia in 1976 after his work was shown in Tidö Slott, in Tidö-Lindö, Sweden. Gregory had shows since the 1970's until the present in Europe, USA, Australia. His jewelry works were published in books, which were printed in Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, France, etc. Some of his recent made work currently is found in galleries in the United States and Europe. His art jewelry is something that is entirely artist created and not influenced by the market. Gregory Pyra art jewelry, unique in a class by itself, is different than anything in the craft movement in the UK, USA, and Australia, and different than any mass produced jewelry. It is something that artist creates completely on his own, and at the same time has superb quality. Today Gregory Pyra, Gabriel Pyra, and Piro Group continue creating superb art jewelry design pieces and also unique sculpture. There are many designs available. Art jewelry by jewelry artist Gregory Pyra Piro, Gabriel Pyra, and the Piro Group is truly unique. Created in sterling silver and 14 karat gold or 18 karat gold with all types of materials. Sometimes ebony wood or black oak is intermixed with silver and gold. Some pieces are all gold and are also created as multi metal or mixed metal in yellow gold, green gold, pink gold, and white gold. The semi precious facet cut gem stones such as amethyst, blue topaz, garnet, peridot, iolite, tourmaline, and precious facet cut gem stones such as the diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and sometimes emeralds are mixed with amber, ammonite, mother pearl, pearls, glass, and sea glass. Piro not only creates art jewelry or wearable art, but also sculptures, which are also created in similar materials as the art jewelry. The fine art includes pieces such as goblets and sculptures.
